The expert told why NATO places bases in the Baltic States
Military analyst, head of The center for the study of public applied problems of national security Alexander Zhilin spoke about the prospects of the Baltic States as part of NATO.
According to Sputnik, the deployment of military bases in Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia is exclusively a political maneuver of the Alliance. In the event of a military confrontation, these countries will be instantly destroyed as soon as Russia realizes that any danger can come from here.
According to Zhilin, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia are the second-class goals in the strategic confrontation. Military bases are organized under the leadership of NATO, but they will serve the local military. This is just an additional goal for Russia to spend a few more warheads.
