Haiko Maas: energy security issues should be addressed in Europe
The foreign Minister of Germany Haiko Maas spoke about the energy policy of Europe. As reported in the material of TASS, the German Minister believes that Europe should independently solve issues related to the energy of the region.
He also noted that several European companies are engaged in the implementation of the Nord stream – 2 project. Maas insists that the European energy policy should be based solely on the decisions of local leaders and not on the requirements of the United States.
However, he drew attention to the fact that the gas transit should be maintained for Ukraine even after the commissioning of the new branch of the “Nord stream – 2”.
Earlier, Berlin has already pointed to the economic grounds for the construction of this pipeline.
