“You wrote them the Constitution”: trump criticized the CIA for failing to take control of Russia
Us President Donald trump on Twitter criticized the CIA for the inability to control Russia, although it was the staff of the Department were, in his opinion, the real authors of the Russian Constitution.
“When the Soviet Union was defeated, I was not yet engaged in politics, but in high circles I constantly heard the boasting of the CIA: we replaced their country, we wrote them a Constitution. Why can’t you take control of them now, gentlemen? You wrote their main law” — he was indignant.
Soon the tweets were removed, but users of the social network managed to take screenshots. The information was also spread by journalists of American publications.
According to The Washington Post, trump at a closed meeting chastised CIA Director Gina Haspell and urged her to intensify operations in Russia. In his opinion, the US has too little funding for human rights organizations.
“We thought that if we write them the main law of the country, we will get power over them, but the Russians have outwitted us. Their strength is that for them the Constitution is not a law. They started ignoring her. We tried to deprive them of the leading role of the party, but they still came to a one-party system in one way or another. We wanted to deprive them of Orthodoxy, but they actually ignore the article about the secular state. That’s why we now have to resort to all ways to attract them to the rule of law and uphold the Constitution. The Russians are strong, as long as they spit on the laws, so we must insist on the opposite,” the publication quotes the President’s speech in the White house.
