The state Duma appreciated the idea of punishment for the wrong designation of the Crimea
Chairman of the state Duma Committee on regional policy and problems of the North and the Far East Nikolai Kharitonov called the initiative to introduce responsibility for incorrect indication on the maps of the territory of Russia unnecessary. About it reports “RIA Novosti”.
According to him, it makes no sense to prove irrefutable facts concerning the fact that the Crimea is part of Russia, because inside the Russian Federation can not recognize the Peninsula.
He noted that it is possible to apply this law to any other Russian region with the same success. And he added that the conversation on this topic is not even necessary.
“I do not want to offend him, but it is absolutely unnecessary legislative initiative,” he concluded.
Earlier in the media there was a message with reference to the Senator from the Crimea Sergey Tsekov that there was an initiative that for the wrong designation of Russian territories will be punished by law. We are talking about the Crimea as well. The law can be submitted to the state Duma within the next three months, but Tsekov said that the relevance of the project is not so acute now, so the introduction of the law is questionable.
